Introduction - A library is a gateway to knowledge. Herein one finds a collection of books and magazines. Nearly all schools and colleges have libraries. It is a must. The man incharge of the library is called the librarian.

Situation - The library of our school is in a hall. It is well-furnished with fans, chairs, tables and almirahs. A reading room is attached to it. It is airy, spacious and attractive. The library is a quiet place in the college.

Books - There are about 4000 books in our library. The books are arranged subject wise in the cupboards. There are books on almost all subjects - History, Geography, Civics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and others. Besides books, there are many dailies, weeklies and magazines.

How the books are issued - The librarian maintains two issue registers.There is one register for teachers and the other for students. They select the book of their choice. They write its name and number on a printed card. Then the librarian issues the book to them. The students get the book for fourteen days. they do not return it in time, they are fined 25 paise a day.

Advantages - A library is very useful. It is a storehouse of knowledge. Teachers cannot work without the help of a good library. The boys must make the best use of the library. By reading newspapers and magazines, they can keep their knowledge up-to-date.
